Music for the play The Lizard op. 8, Musik till skådesspelet Ödlan, for string orchestra, Score

This incidental music to a play by Mikael Lybeck consists of two items scored for a small string ensemble. The music is Sibelius at his most enchanting. The chromatic and whole note motifs and mysterious string tremolos are a direct forerunner of Tapiola. Sibelius himself looked upon The Lizard as one of his most delicate works.
